Who We Are
Cathy’s Cafe LTD. (operating under the Blessed Abilities Society) is a mission-driven social enterprise dedicated to empowering young people with developmental disabilities through hands-on training and meaningful employment.
Founded by Mr. Gary Tang in 2021, the Blessed Abilities Society was inspired by his personal journey as a father to a daughter with special needs and his desire to create lasting change in how society includes and supports individuals with disabilities.
Many young people with developmental disabilities face significant barriers to employment, even after completing their education. Too often, they are limited to sheltered or segregated work environments that fail to provide the skills, inclusion, or independence they deserve. Cathy’s Cafe addresses this gap by offering a welcoming, community-focused space that blends quality food with purpose and inclusion.
At Cathy’s Cafe, our heart is to provide a cafe employment training program for adults and young adults with developmental disabilities who want to build both cafe skills and essential soft skills for sustainable employment.
